Out of school activities

Our philosophy:

We are child-led, empowering children and young people to think for themselves in our out of school activities. Attendees have access to 1-2-1 mentoring by our trained volunteers, building their confidence as independent writers. We take fun seriously.

We provide a wide range of exciting creative writing workshops for children and young people aged 7-18.  Recent writing programmes have included poetry, stories, songs, games and much more!  We showcase this creative genius in a number of ways. Young people have seen their work broadcast on BBC Radio 4, performed in the I Know I Wish I Will project and heard at the WE Wonder festival.

We have also offered Bronze and Silver Arts Awards for young people aged 12-15 and 14-17.  Attendees chose what they would like to work on alongside a diverse range of creative practitioners, developing their arts leadership skills and enhancing their creative skills in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Grimm & Co ensure that all our workshops are creative, innovative, welcoming, and (perhaps most importantly) fun!

However, please note that workshops are not currently taking place in person in the Writer’s Pad.  Due to the pandemic and a move in the mortal realm, workshop delivery is currently taking place online or in community settings.
