Our philosophy:
Grimm & Co encourages a child-led approach to writing. We empower children and young people to think for themselves, work together to feel a sense of ownership and pride, and become invested in their stories. Pupils have access to 1:1 mentoring by our trained volunteers in order to build their confidence as independent writers. We take fun VERY seriously.
Our ‘out-of-school’ writing programmes:
Grimm & Co run high energy creative writing programmes, with engaging and other-worldly activities to delight both mortals and magical beings alike! Our aim is to ignite imaginations, build creative writing skills, develop confidence in writing and motivate children and young people to pen their very own stories.
We empower children and young people with one to one support and mentoring from trained staff and volunteers.
Our out of school workshops take place throughout the year. They result in fabulous outcomes such as the ones shown on our Showcase page.
Our Family learning programmes:
Since Grimm & Co first opened our doors in 2014, we have welcomed thousands of children and young people between the ages of 7 and 18. However, we know that communication and imagination starts much earlier than that!
In late 2021, we received funding to be able to work with families with children aged 0-5, on creative story themed activities and fun literacy sessions. At Grimm & Co we recognise that YOU are your child’s main educator. We want to support you and work with you to develop your child’s learning.
We also have a range of creative writing activities online for you and your family to enjoy.
