PRESENTING… Sarah Christie!
Favourite book in the world ever written?
Too hard to choose! Though purely in terms of number of rereads, combined with an intense sense of fondness/childhood nostalgia, it’d
be Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
The last book I really enjoyed reading was Aquarium by David Vann: a quietly-told and deeply affecting novel, written in Vann’s usual crystalline, deceptively simple, and quite brilliant style. Also it had the plus point of featuring tonnes of cool sea creatures.
If you were a cheese, what would you be?
I grew up in Wensleydale and spent my childhood going on endless school trips to the Wensleydale Creamery, where we’d dutifully watch how they separate curds and whey before gorging ourselves on samples of the more outre cheeses that no one ever bought, so probably that by default.
What would your superpower be?
Alphabetising things with great speed and accuracy. Actually, that’s not super at all; more a crushingly mundane power. Being able to fly
would be sick, though.
What was your favourite subject at school?
In a surprise to absolutely no one, English.
